AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE <br />MOUTH, V~RGiNIA, !961~ BY <br />SECTION NUMBERED 19-15.2, <br />POST SIGNS CONCERNING THE <br />CEALMENT OF MERCHANDISE. <br /> <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTS- <br />ADDING THERETO A NEW <br />~EQUIRING MERCHANTS TO <br />P~OHIB~TION AGAINST CON- <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That the Code of the City of Portsmouth~ Virginia, <br />1961, be amended by adding thereto a new section num- <br />bered 19-15.2~ such new section to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 19-15.2. Merchants to post si~n con- <br /> cerning section 19-15. <br /> <br /> Every merchant shall post in a place conspicuous <br />to the general public at or near the entrance to his place <br />of business a sign that clearly and legibly sets forth <br />verbatim or in general terms the provisions of section 19- <br />15 of this code or section 18.1-126 of the Code ~f Virginia. <br />Such signs shall be printed with letters at least one and <br />one-half inches in size. Any merchant who fails to post <br />such sign shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Vioiat~on of <br />this section shall not be considered in any proceeding, <br />civil or criminal, except in a prosecution for the viola- <br />tion of this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held May 11, 1971. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
