{m) A description of the ~ki~mers and or <br />scum gutters; <br /> <br /> (n) The type and range of Eesting equip- <br />menn, including chlorine. <br /> <br /> Sec. 14-17. Design and Construction Requirements. <br />In addition to such other requirements as may be reasonably <br />imposed by the Director through ~ules and Regulations pro- <br />mulgated ~ereunder, the Director shall ~ot issue a permit <br />to consLruct or approve the construction of any swimming <br />pool or any alteration, addition, remodeling or other im- <br />provement 5o a swimming pool hereunder unless the following <br />design and construction requirements are observed in such <br />construction and swimming ~Qots shall be constructed and <br />maintained in conformity with the following requirements: <br /> <br /> (a) Mater~at. The material used for linisg <br />artificial sw~mmin~ pools shall be one which is <br />light in color, is impervious, and will provide a <br />tight tank with smooth and easily cleaned surfaces. <br />Sand or dirt bottoms therefor are prohibited. <br /> <br /> (b) Walls, ~arkings and Slope. ~he walls of <br />the pool shall be vertical. Conspicuous markings <br />shall be provided showin~ the location and de~th <br />of the shallow and deep portions, and the location <br />and depth of the points where the slope of the <br />bottom of the pool changes. Special markings shall <br />be necessary for large and odd shaped pools as pre- <br />scribed by the Director. <br /> <br /> (c) Overflow Gutters. Overflow gutters shall <br />be p~ovided extending completely around the pool, <br />having adequate drainage of overflow water away from <br />the pool. <br /> <br /> (d) Inlets and Outlets. Ail pools shall be <br />provided with at least two outlets at the deepest <br />point of sufficient size te permit the pool to be <br />completely drained or e~ptied, as prescribed by the <br />Director~ The outlet openings in the floor of the <br />pool shall be designed and located to reduce suction <br />currents and shall be covered with a proper grating. <br />Inlets for fresh or repurified water shall be suk- <br />merged and located so as to produce as nearly as <br />possible a 'uniform circulation of water through the <br />entire pool. <br /> <br /> <br />
