AN ORDINANCE TO AMEkND SECT. ION 19-10 OF THE O0DE OF THE <br />CITY OF PORTS~i~4, VIt~GINIA, 1961, TO PRDHIBIT THE <br />SALE OF BEER ~D W~E ON SUNDAYS ~ THE H0%~S OF <br />1:00 A.M. AND 1:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by ~he ODuncil of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Section i9-10 of the Code of the City of Portsmo~ ~th, <br />Virginia, 1961, be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 19-10. Same - When sale of beer and wine prohibited. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for ~ny person to sell;, or for any <br />person holding a license frc~a the Atcc~olic Beverage Control Board of <br />Virginia to peri, it to be sold at his place of business, between the <br />hours of 1:00 A.M. and 1:00 ~P.M., of each Sunday, any beer er wine as <br />~efined by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act. This section shall not <br />~ffect the sale of beer and wine on passenger trains or s~ vessels <br />while operating in interstate cc~erce. <br /> <br /> Any person who shall violate the provisions of this section <br />Shall be punished by a fir~ of not less than ten dollars nor more than <br />one hundred dollars, or by confin~aent in jail not exceeding one month, <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held February 23, 1971. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />Sty Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
