AN OP~IN~2~CE TO A~iEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIR- <br />GINIA, 1961, CHAPTER 31, ARTICLE I THEREOF, BY ADDING THERETO <br />SECTION 31-32.2 PERTAINING TO THE PROHIBITION OF SIGNS AND <br />BILLBOARDS ALONG LONDON BOULEVARD. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, 1961, Chapter 31, Article I thereof, be amended by <br />adding thereto a new section 31-32.2, such new section to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 31-32.2. Billboards and signs along London <br /> Boulevard prohibited. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to have on dis- <br />play for advertisement purposes any slgn or billboard as de- <br />fined in the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, <br />attached either to a building or to the land which is erected <br />or maintained within 660 feet from the edge of the right of <br />way of London Boulevard between its intersection with Effing- <br />ham Street and its intersection with High Street except such <br />signs as are displayed for identification of the immediate <br />premises or governmental signs. <br /> <br /> 2.
