304.14 Protective treatment. <br /> <br /> Ail exterior wood surfaces, other than decay resistant <br />woods, shall be protected from the elements and decay by paint- <br />ing or other protective covering or treatment. Such surfaces <br />shall be painted or treated so as to prevent structural deteri- <br />oration and neighborhood blight. <br /> <br />Section 4-61.2 Rules and regulations for the administration <br /> and enforcement of this Article. <br /> <br /> The director of public health, wi~h the approval of <br />the housing board of adjustments and appeals, m~y make and adoDt <br />such rules and regulations as may be necessary for the admini- <br />stration and enforcement of this article. Such rules and regu- <br />lations shall not be in conflict with or an enlargement of any <br />of the provisions of this article. Substantial failure, <br />refusal or neglect by ~he owner or occupant shall be grounds for <br />the cancellation of such lease or verbal rental agreement in an <br />action by the party not guilty of such .non-compliance. <br /> <br />Section 4-61.4 Authority of director of public health to abate <br /> nuisance notwithstanding provisions of article. <br /> <br /> Notwithstanding any of the provisions of this article, <br />whenever in the judgment of the director there exists upon any <br />land or premises or in any dwelling unit any condition ~hat . <br />constitutes such a nuisance or menace to health that the same <br />should be remediedr abated or removed immediately, the director <br />may proceed in accordance with the progisions of sections 14-1 <br />and 14-2. <br /> <br />3.
