AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2-27 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, PERTAINING TO BONDS REQUIRED OF <br />CERTAIN OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That Section 2-27 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, 1961, be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-27. Bonds. <br /> <br /> Ail officers and employees of the city required by <br />state law or by the ordinances of the city to give bond shall <br />give bond in such amount as may be required by the city council <br />before entering upon the performance of their duties. <br /> <br /> Such bond shall, with such security as the council <br />may approve, be conditioned for the faithful discharge of the <br />duties of the office and shall be made payable to the city by <br />its corporate name, "The City of Portsmouth." <br /> <br /> The following officers and employees shall be re- <br />quired to give bond: <br /> <br />City treasurer <br />Delinquent tax collector <br />Clerk of municipal court <br />Clerk of juvenile and domestic <br />City auditor <br />Assistant city auditor <br />City Clerk <br />Commissioner of revenue <br />Chief of police <br />Director of public works <br />Director of public utilities <br />Director of finance <br /> <br />relations court <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, at a meeting held October 26~ 1971. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
