That Section 2-24 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia~ 1961~ be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-2~, Reques~ for permission to address council. <br /> <br /> All requests for permission to address the council <br />shall be preceded by a communication in writing, stating the <br />subject to be discussed. Such requests, must be filed with <br />the City Clerk prior to the close of business on the Friday <br />precedmng the next regular council meeting in order to be <br />placed on the agenda-for such meeting. The previsions of <br />this section shall not apply tb the ~i~ht to speak on a mat- <br />ter which is the subject of a public beefing required by law. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the ~mtI of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held August 10, 1971. <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
