~ ORDINANCE TO A~ND SECTION 37 OF THE LICENSE TAX OF THE CITY <br />OF PORTSMOUTH, 1969, PERTAINING TO THE LICENSE TAX IMPOSED ON <br />THE ~NUFACTURING, BOTTLING AND SALE OF ALCOHOLIC SPIRITS, <br />BEER, AND WINE. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That section 37 of the License Tax Ordinance of the City of <br />Portsmouth, 1969, be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 37. Alcoholic Beverages: <br /> <br /> (a) Every person engaged in manufacturing, bottling <br />and/or dispensing alcoholic beverages shall be liable for license <br />taxes as follows: <br /> <br /> (1) For each distiller's license, if more than <br />5,000 gallons of alcohol or spirits, or both, are manufactured <br />during said license year, including bottling, the license tax <br />shall be $'1,000.00. <br /> <br /> (2) For each winery license, the license tax shall <br />be $1,000.00. <br /> <br />(3) For eack brewerF, the license tax shall be <br /> <br />$1,000.00. <br /> <br />(4) For each bottler's license, the license tax <br />shall be $500.00. <br /> <br /> (5) For each wholesale beer license, the license <br />tax shall be $250.00. <br /> <br /> (6) For each wholesale wine distributor's license, <br />the license tax shall be $50.00. <br /> <br /> (7) For each wholesale druggist license, the <br />license tax shall be $10.00. <br /> <br /> (8) For each retail <br />license for a hotel, restaurant or <br />be $150.00. <br /> <br />on-premises wine and beer <br />club, the license tax shall <br /> <br /> (9) For each retail off-premises wine and beer <br />license, the license tax shall be $150,00. <br /> <br /> <br />
