~ ORDINANCE TO k~END THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIR- <br />GINIA, 1961, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-20 THEREROF, AND BY AMEND- <br />ING SECTIONS 21-2 AND 21-7 THEREOF PERTAINING ~O THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION AND ITS COMPOSITIONr AND POWERS. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginla: <br /> <br /> · . ~That the Co~e of ~he City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />196!~ be amended by repealing Section 21-20 thereof. <br /> <br /> 2. That the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />1961, be amended by amending Sections 21-2 and 21-7, such amend- <br />ed sections to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 21-2. Composition; appointment and term of members. <br /> <br /> The planning commission shall consist of seven members <br />to be appointed by the City council in accordance with Section <br />15ol-437 of the Code of Virginia, 1950. <br /> <br />Section 21-7. Powers and functions of the commission. <br /> <br /> The planning commission shall have such powers and <br />shall perform such functions and duties as are set forth for <br />local planning co~missions in Chapter 1i, Title 15.1 of the <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, toward the end and purpose of planning <br />the orderly development of the city. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the' Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, at a meeting held October 10, 1972. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
