AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIR- <br />G!NIA~ 1961, BY ADDING TO CHAPTER 25 THEREOF, A NEW ARTICLE <br />V CONSISTING OF SECTIONS 25-29 THROUGH 25-64, PERTAINING TO <br />PARK REGULATIONS. <br /> <br /> BE iT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth~ Virginia: <br /> <br /> i. That the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />1961, be amended by adding to Chapter 25 thereof a new Article V <br />consisting of sections 25-29 through 25-64, such new article <br />and sections to read as follows: <br /> <br />A~RTICLE V. Park Regulations. <br /> <br />Section 25-29. Definitions of terms. <br /> <br /> For the purposes of this article~ the following <br />words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascrib- <br />ed to them by this section: <br /> <br /> (a) '~Park". The term park or parks, unless spec- <br />ifically limited, shall be deemed to include all designated <br />parks, golf courses and other recreational areas owned by the <br />City of Portsmouth; <br /> <br /> (b) "Owner!'. Any person~ firm, association, co- <br />partnership or corporation owning, leasing, operating, or having <br />the exclusive use of a vehicle, animal or any other property <br />under a lease or otherwise; <br /> <br /> {c) ~Bridle Path or Trail". Any path or trail <br />maintained for persons riding on horseback; <br /> <br /> (d) "Foot Path or Trail". Any path or trail main- <br />tained for pedestrians~ <br /> <br /> (e) "Permits". Any written license issued by or <br />under authority of the City Manager; <br /> <br /> (f) "Person". Any natural person, corporation, <br />company, association, joi~t stock association, firm or co- <br />partnership; <br /> <br /> (g) "Bathing Area". Any beach or water area de- <br />signated by or under authority of the City Manager as a bathing <br />area. <br /> <br /> <br />
