AN ORDII~ANCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF SCOTT STREET. WHEREAS, Paul R. and Dorothy Gettier and W. T. and Dorothy S. Ryan, Jr. have made application to vacate and close that hereinafter described portion of Scott Street; and ~'~EREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted June 27, 1972, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the herein- after described portion of the said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what incon- venience would result from the discontinuing of the belo%~ de- scribed street; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from clos- ing and discontinuing said street; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that Ail that portion of Scott Street situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the south- ern line of Scott Street 25 feet West of a top iron pin at the southwest intersection of Scott Street and Amelia Avenue, thence along the south- ern line of Scott Street South 86° 29' 00' West 310 feet to a point 25 feet East of the south- east intersection of Scott Street and Powhatan Avenue; thence North 3° 40' OO'~ East a distance of 50 feet to the northern line of Scott Street; thence along the northern line of Scott Street South 86° 20' 00" East 310 feet to a point 25 feet West of the northwest intersection of Scott Street and Amelia Avenue; thence South 3° 40' OO" West 50 feet to the southern line of Scott Street at th~ point of beginning; be and the same is hereby closed an~ vacated as a public street.
