AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, <br />1961, BY ADDING SECTION 18-46.1 THERETO PERTAINING TO SLOW MOVING <br />VEHICLES ON THE CHURCHLAND BRIDGE. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />1961, be amended by adding Section 18-46.1, such added section to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 18-46.1. <br /> <br />Slow moving vehicles on Churchland Bridge <br />prohibited. <br /> <br /> (a) No slow moving motor vehicle shall be driven <br />across the Churchland Bridge between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and <br />9:00 A.M., and 3:00 P.M. and 6:D0 P.M. For the purposes of this <br />section "slow moving motor vehicle" shall be taken to mean any <br />motor vehicle which is not designed to or which is not able to <br />attain a speed of 30 miles per hour. <br /> <br /> (b) No person shall drive a motor vehicle at any <br />time on the Churchland Bridge at such a slow speed as to impede <br />the normal and reasonable movement of traffic except when re- <br />duced speed is necessary for safe operation or in compliance with <br />law. <br /> <br /> 2. An emergency exists and this ordinance shall take <br />effect from the date of its passage. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- <br />ginia, at a meeting held June 13, 1972. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
