or after July it 1973, a member shall receive an annual retire- <br />ment allowance, payable monthly to him during his lifetime and <br />continued disability, in an amount determined as follows: <br /> <br /> (1) With respect to any allowance payment fall- <br />ing due before the memberms normal retirement date <br />and in a month for which the member is not entitled <br />to total and permanent disability benefits under the <br />Social-Security Act~ two percent of his averaqe final <br />compensation multiplied by the number of years of his <br />':disabiiity-credited service", as hereinafter defined. <br /> <br /> (2) With respect to any allowance pa}~ent fall- <br />ing due before the member's normal retirement date <br />and in a month for which the member is entitled to <br />total and permanent disability benefits under the <br />Social Security Act~ the larger of: (1) One percent <br />of his average final compensation multiplied by the <br />number of years of his ~'disability-credited service"; <br />or (ii) The excess of (x) two percent of his average <br />final compensation multiplied by the number of years <br />of his '~disabi!ity-credited service" over (y) two <br />percent of the annual amount of the primary total and <br />permanent disability benefit under the Social Security <br />Act to which the member first became entitled multi- <br />plied by the number of years of his "disability- <br />credited service,~ not in excess of twenty-five such <br />years. <br /> <br /> (3) With respect to any allowance payment falling <br /> due after the member's normal retirement date, the <br /> larger of: (i) One percent of his average final com- <br /> pensation multiplied by the number of years of his <br /> "disability-credited service"; or (ii) The excess of <br /> (x) two percent of his average final compensation <br /> multiplied by the number of years of his "disability- <br /> credited service" over (y) two percent of the annual <br /> amount of the primary total and permanent disability <br /> benefit or the prlmary old-age benefit at age sixty- <br /> five to whick the member first became entitled, multi- <br /> plied by the number of years of his "disability-credited <br /> service':, not in excess of twenty-five such years. <br /> <br /> (b) For the purposes of this section, the term "dis- <br />ability-credited service" for any me~er shall be taken to mean <br />the smalies~ of (i) The member's actua~ period of creditable <br />service plus ten years; or (ii) The number of years of creditable <br />service the member would have completed at his normal retirement <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
