that the resultant allowance, with respect to payments falling <br />due before and after the member's normal retirement date, shall <br />be reduced by one-half of one percent for each month in the <br />period between the member's date of retirement and the first <br />date on which he would have been eligible for a retirement al- <br />lowance computed as provided for in subsection (a) preceding <br />had he remained an employee until such date. <br /> <br /> (c) Upon retirement as provided in subsection (c) of <br />section 26-31, on or after July I~ 1973~ a member shall receive <br />an annual retirement allowance payable monthly to him during his <br />lifetime the amount of which~ before and after his normal retire- <br />ment date, shall be determined in accordance with either sub- <br />section (a) or subsection (b) of this section, whichever is ap- <br />plicab!e~ except that if the member has completed less than twenty <br />years of creditable service, the allowance as computed shall be <br />reduced to a percentage of itself in accordance with the follow- <br />lng table: <br /> <br />Complete Years of <br />_Credited Service <br /> <br />Ten but less than eleven <br />Eleven but less than twelve <br />Twelve but less than thirteen <br />Thirteen but less than fourteen <br />Fourteen but less than fifteen <br />Fifteen but less than sixteen <br />Sixteen but less than seventeen <br />Seventeen but less than eighteen <br />Eighteen but less than nineteen <br />Nineteen but less than twenty <br /> <br />Applicable <br />Percentage <br /> <br />5O% <br />55% <br />60% <br />65% <br />70% <br />75% <br />80% <br />85% <br />90% <br />95% <br /> <br /> (d) The foregoing provisions to the contrary notwith- <br />standing, if a member's retirement allowance is payable under one <br />of the options of section 26-41, the amount and duration thereof <br />shall be determlned in accordance with the provisions of the ap- <br />plicable option. <br /> <br /> (e) The foregoing provisions to the contrary notwith- <br />standingr any person whose membership began on or after his fifty- <br />fifth birthday shall not be eligible for or receive a retirement <br />allowance as provided for herein. <br /> <br />Section 26-34.
