AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OP THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIR- <br />GINIA, i961, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 7-40 and 7-41 THEREOF PER- <br />TAINING TO REGULATION OF JUSTICES OF THE PEACE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth is authorized to <br />enact as ordinances certain statutes from the Code of Virginia, <br />provided such ordinances are substantially consistent with the <br />state law; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the General Assembly of Virginia at its <br />1973 session amended certain of those statutes of the Code of <br />Virginia, 1950; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the amendment of such statutes requires <br />that certain sections of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />1961, be repealed so as to render said city code in conformity <br />with the state code. <br /> <br /> NOW, TheREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br /> 1961, be amended~by repealing Sections 7-40 and 7-41 thereof. <br /> 2.
