compensation must be entered by the Chief of the department on <br />the next succeeding payroll s~mitted to the Finance Director, <br />Ail special assignments must be authorized by the Chief of the <br />Department~ or du~in9 his absence or disability, by the Deputy <br />Chief. Overtime work shall not be considered special assign- <br />ment duty. <br /> <br /> (c) Anything herein to the contrsry not~'ithstanding, <br />any firefighter~or policeman who appears as a witness ~hen not <br />on regular assigned period of duty~ in criminal cases in courts <br />of the City of PortsmoUth shall be paid a witness fee of $i0~00 <br />for the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court and the <br />General District Court and $15.00 for ~he Circuit Court for each <br />such appearance; provided however, that only %hose firefighters <br />and policemen who are necessary to the prosecution of the case <br />~y ba pai~ such witness fee in connection with the trial of <br />any particular case; an~ further provide~ ho%~ever~ that no <br />firefighter or policeman shall be pai~ more than one such <br />witness fee per day regardless of how many cases er courts <br />he may be required to appear or testify in~ Such appearance <br />shall be certified by the Clerk of the Court to the Fire Chief <br />or the Police Chief~ respectively~ who shall report same to <br />the City ~ayroil Clerk on such form~ an~ at suc~ times as the <br />Finance Director n~y prescribe~ <br /> <br /> ~n~ ~exeln to the contrary notwzthstanding, <br />any f~efiqht~?_ .. -- or policeman who is re~uired~ to wear civilian <br />clothes in the regular performance of his official duties shall <br />be <br /> ~n~ ~e aolIars per mon~l as a clothing <br /> <br /> (e) The additional compensation aunho_zzed' ~' %lnder <br />subsection (b)~ (c)~ and (d) above shall be in addition to all <br />other cempansation~ allowances and payments authorized by this <br />or any ~.~r o~d_n=.nce or law. <br /> <br />Section 15.
