(1) Seven years, two days. (2) Ten years, three days. (3) Fifteen years, five days. (4) Twenty years, seven days. (c) Annual leave may be taken at any time with the written approval of the department head concerned. During the period of December 16 through December 31, d~partment heads shall not take annual leave except with the prior written ap- proval of the city manager or his designee. (d) Annual leave taken shall only be charged against the normal working days of the officer or employee concerned. (e) Ail annual leave taken mus~ be'reported to the finance department at the end of each pay period, and such shall be deducted from the leave account of the person taking such leave. (f) The amount of annual leave to which any of- ficer or employee is entitled may be accumulated and carried over from year to year; provided, however, that all accumulated unused annual leave an excess of two (2) years' entitlement re- maining in the leave account of the officer or employee as of December 31 of each year shall be automatically cancelled at the expiration of such year. (g) if any officer or employee shall leave the service of the city after giving reasonable notice of his in- tention so to do, he shall be entitled to terminal leave pay equal to the amount of his acc~aulated unused annual leave~ provided, however, if he shall be dismissed for personal de- linquency or if he shall have resigned in the face of dismissal or other disciplinary action, he shall forfeit his right to terminal leave pay. (h) City council shall have the right to vary the application of subsection (g) hereinabove in establishing conditions of employment for officers and employees appointed by council. This provision shall be applicable to all contracts of employment heretofore or hereafter made. 3. This ordinance shall take effect from the date of its passage. -2-
