Sign, roof. A sign erected, cons~ructed, or main- <br />rained above the roof of any building. <br /> <br /> Sign, wall. A sign painted on or affixed to the wall <br />of a building and not projecting more than twelve (!2) inches <br />from the face of the wall. <br /> <br /> Story. That portion of a building ~'holly above- <br />ground included between the upper surface of any floor and the <br />upper surface of the floor next above; or ti~t portion of a <br />building ims~ediately under the roof having a floor area that <br />is fifty (50) per cent or more of the floor area of the story <br />i~.ediately below and with a ceiling height of at least eight <br />(8) feet. <br /> <br /> Street. Any privately maC, rained right-of-way set <br />aside for public travel fifty (50) feet or m~re in width and <br />also any right-of-way which has been accepted for maintenance <br />as a street by the city. <br /> <br /> Tourist home. A principal building wherein from one <br />to ten (10) rooms are rented as an incidental home occupation <br />to provide overnzght accomodations for transient guests. <br /> <br /> Townhouse. A row of three (3) or more attached one- <br />family dwellings, separated from one another by firewalls ex- <br />tending from the footing to the roof, and otherwise so planned <br />that the unit houmes may be sold to separate owners in contra- <br />distinction to apartment or housing developments. <br /> <br /> Yard. A space on the same plot with a principal <br />building, open, unoccupied and unobstructed bg~ buildings from <br />the ground to the sky, except where encroachments and accessory <br />buildings are expressly permitted in section 40-53 hereof. <br /> <br /> Yard front. A yard extending across the full width <br />of the plot adjoining the street upon which the plot fronts: <br />the depth of which shall be as specified in the dimensional <br />requirements for each district. <br /> <br /> Yard, rear. A yard extending across the full width <br />of the plot adjoining the rear plot line~ the depth of which shall <br />be as specified in the dimensional requirements for each district. <br /> <br /> Yard, side. A yard adjacent to a side plot line extend- <br />ing from the front yard to the rear yard. The width of the re- <br />quired side yard shall be as specified in the dimensional re- <br />quirements for each district. <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
