AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF LOUISA AVENUE BETWEEN COUNTY <br />STREET AND THE RIGHT OF WAY OF SEABOARD COASTLINE RAILROAD <br />(S-74-9). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Charles A. and Judith A. Langreder have made <br />application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter <br />described portion of Louisa Avenue; and <br /> <br /> W~REAS, by reso!ution of this Council, adopted Aug- <br />ust 13, 1974, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1- <br />364 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the <br />hereinafter described portion of the said street, and to report <br />in writing whether, in their opinion, any, and if any, what in- <br />convenience would result from discontinuing the below described <br />street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing <br />that, in their opinion, no inconvenience would result from clos- <br />ing and discontinuing said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of Louisa Ave- <br />nue hereinafter described, be closed and vacated as a public <br />street. <br /> <br /> Ail that certain lot or parcel of land situ- <br />ate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and <br />described as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point in the northern line of <br />County Street at the southwest corner of Lot NO. <br />24 in Block 141 as sho~ on the plat of Living- <br />ston Land Company of record in the Office of the <br />Clerk of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesa- <br />peake~ Virginia~ in Map Book 5, at Page 43; <br />thence in ~ northerly direction along the west- <br />ern line of said Lot 24 and continuing along <br />the western line of Lot 23 in said Block 141 a <br />distance of 130 feet, more or less, to the east- <br />erly line of the right of way of Seaboard Coast- <br />line Railroad; thence in a southwesterly direction <br />along the line of said right of way a distance of <br />75 feet, more or less, to the eastern line of Lot <br />NO. 2, in Block 140 on the above plat; thence in <br />a southerly direction along the line of said Lot <br />2 a distance of 80 feet, more or less, to the <br />northern line of County Street; thence in an <br /> <br /> <br />
