A~ ORDINANCE TO ~iEND PORT~IOUTH CITY ORDINANCE 1973-18 BY k~END- <br />ING SECTION 1 THEREOF PERTAINING TO THE ESTABLIS~IENT AND N~n~WIE <br />OF THE CABLE TELEVISION CO~ISSION; BY AMENDING SECTION 2 T~qERE- <br />OF PERTAINING TO TERMS OF MEMBERS; BY AMENDING SECTION 4 TF~REOF <br />PERTAINING TO RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES; AND BY RE~T~4BERING <br />SUCH SECTIONS TO FACILITATE INCORPOraTION INTO THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, 1973. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council Of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginma: <br /> <br /> 1. That Portsmouth City Ordinance 1973-18 be amended <br />and reordained as Article XV of Chapter 2 of the Code of the City <br />of Portsmoutk, Virgmnia, such article to read as follows: <br /> <br />ARTICLE XV. CABLE TELEVISION CO~ISSION <br /> <br />Section 2-320. Portsmouth Cable Television Commission - <br /> composition. <br /> <br /> A Co~ission to be known as the Portsmouth Cable Tele- <br />vision Commission is hereby created. The Commission shall con- <br />sist of seven m~bers; the City Manager, the City Attorney, the <br />Superintendent of Schools or his authorized representative, and <br />fo~r citizens appointed by~Quncil. All me~bers shall be resi- <br />dents of the City. <br /> <br />Section 2-321. Same - Terms of me~ers; vacancies; compensation. <br /> <br /> (a) Except as specifically provided in subsection (b) <br />hereof, all terms of citizen members of the Commission shall be <br />two years. <br /> <br /> (b) Upon ekpiration of the terms of the four citizen <br />members appointed pursuant to the terms of the ordinance adopted <br />February 27, 1973, Council shall appoint two citizen commissioners <br />for a term of one year and two citizen commissioners for a term of <br />two years. Upon the expiration of the one-year terms created here- <br />in, the Council shall appoint two citizen commissioners for terms <br />of two years. All terms of all citizen commissioners shall there- <br />after be two years. <br /> <br />Section 2-322. Same - Organization: Quorum. <br /> <br /> The Commission shall elecb a chairman. The Commission <br />map create and fill such other offices as it may determine. A <br />majority of the men, bets of the Con~ission shall constitute a quo- <br />rum for the transaction of business. <br /> <br /> <br />
