AN CPOI~CE T0~ THE CODE OF THE Ci~f OF PORTSMOUTH, ViR- GIN~A, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTIONS 14-39~ 14-40, 14-41 AND 14-42 PERTAINING TO RATES CHARGED FOR CERTAIN REFUSE COLLECTION SERVICES; AND BY'MENDING SECTION 14-45 PERTAINING TO BILLING PROCEDURES FOR REFUSE COLLECTION SERVICES. Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia: ginia, 14-41~ lows: 1. That the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- 1973, be amended by amend~u~ Sections 14-39, 14-40, 14-42 and 14-45, such amended sections to read as fol- Section 14-39. Rates for dwelling units and certain other establis~hments. The service charge for the collection and disposal of trash and garbage from any dwelling ~nit and any other es- tablisb~aent not subject to the charges imposed by sections 14-40 or 14-41 shall be at the rate of three doliars ($3.00) per month per dwelling unit, or in the case of such other es- tabtisD~ents, at the rate of three dollars ($3.00) per month for each such other estabtis~n~ent. The charges imposed under' this section shall be billed with tD~ statement rend~red for water and sewer charges. Section 14-40. Rates for standard containers. (a) ~ere garbage and refuse are stored in thirty- two (32) gallon containers~ or the eq~iva!ent thereof, the charge for each three (3) month period shall be based the volume of refuse normally generated for the particular class of business, and the rates shall be as follows: Collections per week Standard containers per collection Minimum c~harge per quarter 2 0 to 4 $ 9.00 2 5 to 8 18.00 2 9 to 12 27.00 3 0 to 4 15.00 3 5 to 8 30.00 3 9 to 12 45.00 4 0 to 4 21.00 4 5 to 8 42.00 4 9 to 12 63.00
