FMND ON TP~ PUBLIC DEBT <br />FOR T~ FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY' la ~4 AL~ ENDING JUNE 30~ <br />i975~- <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />~uth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> I. For the fiscal year beginning July 1~ 1974, and <br />ending June 30~ i975~.~&~d-.~e~f'~f~tii annu!!e~ by~ord~inance, <br />~he following tax shall be placed ~n real estate, tangible per- <br />sonal property, and machinery and tools wit~hin the limits of the <br />City of Portsmouth, for the purpose of raising revenue for the <br />support of the goverrkment and the public free schools and to pay <br />interest and sinking fund on the public debt. <br /> <br /> 2. The tax on real estate for the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia~ shall be Two and 60/100 ($2.60) Dollars on each one <br />hundred dollars assessed valuation thereof. <br /> <br />Classification of Tangible Personal Property: <br /> <br /> (a) The following shall be classified as Tangible <br />Personal Property and taxes at the rate of Four ($4.00) Dollars <br />on each one hundred dollars assessed valuation thereof. <br /> <br /> (1) The aggregate number of horses, mules <br />and other kindred animals and the value thereof. <br /> <br />(2) The number of cattle and the value thereof. <br /> <br />(3) The number of sheep and goats and the <br /> <br />value thereof. <br /> <br />(4) The number of hogs ar~ the value thereof. <br /> <br /> (5) The aggregate number and value of all <br />automobiles, motor trucks, motorcycles and all other motor ve- <br />hicles, except any vehicle without motive power used or designed <br />to be used as a mobile home or office, or for other means of <br />habitation by any person. <br /> <br />(6) The aggregate value of all animal-draw~ <br />vehicles and bicyc!es~ <br /> <br /> <br />
