Sign. Any notice or advertisement, pictorial or other- <br />wise, with an area of less than two hundred seventy-five (275) <br />square feet used as an outdoor display for the purpose of adver- <br />tising the pr'operty or the establishment or enterprise upon <br />which the display is exhibited. <br /> <br /> Sign, ground. A sign supported by uprights or braces <br />placed in or upon the ground surface. <br /> <br /> Sign, roof. A sign erected~ constructed, or main- <br />tained above the roof of any building. <br /> <br /> Sign, wall. A sign painted on or affixed to the wall <br />of a build~gand not projecting more than twelve (12) inches <br />from the face of the wall. <br /> <br /> Story. That portion of a building wholly above- <br />ground included between the upper surface of any floor and the <br />upper surface of the floor next above; or that portion of a <br />building i~ediately under the roof having a floor area that <br />is fifty (50) per cent or more of the floor area of the story <br />i~mediately below and with a ceiling height of at least eight <br />(8) feet. <br /> <br /> Street. Any privately maintained right-of-way se~ <br />aside for public travel fifty (50) feet or more in width an~ <br />also any right-of-way which has been accepted for ~intenance <br />as a street by the city. <br /> <br /> Tourist home° A principal building ~herein from one <br />to ten (t0) rooms are rented as an incidental horae occupation <br />to provide overnight accomodations for transient guests. <br /> <br /> Townkouse. A row of three (3) or more attached one- <br />family dwellings~ separated from one another by firewa!!s ex- <br />tending from the footing to the roof, and otherwise so planned <br />that the unit houses may be sold to separate owners in contra- <br />distinction to apartment or housing developments. <br /> <br /> Yard. A space on the same plot with a principal <br />building, open, unoccupied andunobstructedby buildings from <br />the ground to the sky, except where encroachments and accessory <br />buildings are expressly permitted in section 40-53 hereof. <br /> <br /> Yard front. A yard extending across the full width <br />of the plot adjoining the street upon which the plot fronts, <br />the depth of which shall be as specified in the dimensional <br />requzrements for each district. <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
