becoming a member of the Portsmouth Fire and Police Retirement <br />System, and whose membership in the Virginia Supplemental Re- <br />tirement has ceased t_hrough withdrawal of his contributions <br />thereunder, the period of time during which he was a member of <br />the Virginia Supplemental Retirement System mayt in the dis- <br />cretion of the Board, be included as creditable service here- <br />under provided he paid into retirement account the amount of <br />contributions he withdrew from the Virginia Supplemental Retire- <br />ment System when he ceased to be a member thereoft or provided <br />he pays into the retirement account an ~ount equal to the normal <br />contributions and accrued liability contribution percentages of <br />creditable compensation that would have been paid had the person <br />been a me~ber of the Portsmouth Fire and Police Retirement System <br />during the period of his membership in the Virginia Supplemental <br />Retirement System.
