AN ORDINANCE TO APPROVE THE ATTACHED FORM OF CONTRACT BET~E~; <br />T~tE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH AN~ VIRGINIA ELECTRIC & PO~tR COMPANY <br />FOR Tt{E PURCHASE BY THE CITY FROM SAID COMPANY AND TFtE FUR~ISt{- <br />ING BY THE COMPANY TO SAID CITY OF ELECTRICITY AND ELECTRIC <br />SERVICES FOR ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE CITY <br />FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION THERE- <br />OF ON BEHALF OF THE CITY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> I. That the form of contract hereto attached and <br /> made a part hereof for the purchase by the City of Portsmouth <br /> from Virginia Electric & Power Company and the furnishing by <br /> said Company to the said City of electricity and electric <br /> services for the electrical requirements of the City for <br />-municipal purposes be, and the same hereby is approved; and <br /> that the City Manager of the City of Portsmouth be, and he <br /> hereby is authorized and directed to execute, in the name of <br /> and on behalf of the City said form of contract, and the City <br /> Clerk of the City of Portsmouth is hereby authorized and <br /> directed to affix the seal of the City to said contract and <br /> to duly attest the same, and to deliver said contract after <br /> the same has been executed by the parties thereto to Virginia <br /> Electric & Power Company. <br /> <br /> 2. This ordinance being necessary for the preser- <br />vation of the public health, morals and safety, an emergency <br />is declared to exist and it shall take effect from its passage. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held June 10, 1975. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
