AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, <br />1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 40-79 OF SAID CODE PERTAINING TO USES <br />PERMITTED WITHIN R~S±DmNT±AL R-60-A DISTRICT. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 40-79 of the Code of the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, i973~ be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-79. Residential R-60-A District uses. <br /> <br /> (a) Within the Residential R-60-A District the following <br />uses are allowed: <br /> <br />Accessory and structures incidental to any permitted res- <br /> idential use, such as servants' quarters, garages, <br /> greenhouses or workshops, provide~ that none shall be <br /> rented or occupied for gain, that no accessory build- <br /> ing shall be inhabited by other than employees of the <br /> owner, lessee or tenant of the pr~ises; provided that <br /> no accessory building to be used for living quarters <br /> shall be constructed upon a plot until the construction <br /> of the principal building has been commenced. <br /> <br />Agencies and offices rendering specialized.services in <br /> the professions, finance, re~l estate ana brokerages. <br /> <br />AutomObile parking operated in conjunction with permitted <br /> uses and in accordance with the requirements of section <br /> 40-48. <br /> <br />Churches and places of worship, including parish houses <br /> and educational buildings. <br /> <br />Convalescent, nursing and foster ho~.es conducted within <br /> the principal building as an incidental home occupation. <br /> <br />Crop or tree farming, greenhouses and truck gardening in- <br /> cluding the sale of products raised on the premises, <br /> provided that no retail stand or other commercial struc- <br /> uure shall be locatea hereon and no greenhouse heating <br /> plant shall be operatea wl=hln twenty (20) feet of any <br /> plot line. <br /> <br />Day nurseries and kindergartens. <br /> <br /> <br />
