AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 40-79 OF SAID CODE PERTAINING TO USES PERMITTED WITHIN R~S±DmNT±AL R-60-A DISTRICT. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Section 40-79 of the Code of the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia, i973~ be amended and reordained to read as follows: Section 40-79. Residential R-60-A District uses. (a) Within the Residential R-60-A District the following uses are allowed: Accessory and structures incidental to any permitted res- idential use, such as servants' quarters, garages, greenhouses or workshops, provide~ that none shall be rented or occupied for gain, that no accessory build- ing shall be inhabited by other than employees of the owner, lessee or tenant of the pr~ises; provided that no accessory building to be used for living quarters shall be constructed upon a plot until the construction of the principal building has been commenced. Agencies and offices rendering specialized.services in the professions, finance, re~l estate ana brokerages. AutomObile parking operated in conjunction with permitted uses and in accordance with the requirements of section 40-48. Churches and places of worship, including parish houses and educational buildings. Convalescent, nursing and foster ho~.es conducted within the principal building as an incidental home occupation. Crop or tree farming, greenhouses and truck gardening in- cluding the sale of products raised on the premises, provided that no retail stand or other commercial struc- uure shall be locatea hereon and no greenhouse heating plant shall be operatea wl=hln twenty (20) feet of any plot line.
