AN ORDINDnNCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF THE FOLLOWING STPJEETS: (1) A PORTION OF WOOL AVENUE EXTENDING APPROXI~t~.TELY 420 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOU'THERN RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF HIGH STREET; (2) A PORTION OF PRIMROSE STREET BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY HOLLADAY STP~ET A~D SOUTH FOR A DISTAi~CE OF 30 FEET: (3) A PORTION OF HOLLADAY STREET BOUNDED ON THE EAST BY ELM AVENUE AND ON THE WEST BY AI~STRONG STREET; (4) Dd'~D A POR- TION OF ~40D-~_~T VERNON AVENUE APPROXi~ATELY 236 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTHERN RIGHT OF WAY LINE O~ HIGH STP~ET AND ALSO A PORTION OF MO%R~T VEPR'~ON AVENUE APPROXI_~SATELY 56 FEET SOUTH OF THE PORTION HERETOFOP~E DESCRIBED. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to vacate, close and dis- continue the hereinafter described portions of Wool Avenue, Primrose Street, Holladay Street and Mount Vernon Avenue; and WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council adopted March 23, 1976, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-354 of the Code of Virginia (1950) as amended to view the hereinafter described portions of the said streets and to report in writing whether in their opinion, any, and if any, what inconven!ence ~ould result from discontinuing the below described streets; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing and discontinuing said streets. NOW, THEREFOP~, BE tT ORDAINED by the COuncil of the City of Portsmouth, that those portions of said streets hereinafter described, be closed and vacate6 as streets. (1) Ail that certain piece or parcel of land, lying and being in the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia and comprising that portion of Wool _Avenue as shown on a plat entitled, "Plat Showing Portions Of Mount Vernon Avenue And Wool Avenue To Be Closed, Portsmouth, Virginia, For Mt. Hermon Conservation And Redevelopment Project, VAR-69", prepared by Baldwin and Gregg, Ltd., Engineers, Surveyors, Planners, Portsmouth, Virginia, dated August 18, 1975, and revised February 13, 1976, a copy of which is attached hereto.
