AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF FLORIDA AVENUE BETWEEN HIGH <br />STREET AND KING STREET (S-76-2) . <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority has made application to vacate, close and dis- <br />continue the hereinafter described portion of Florida <br />Avenue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council, adopted <br />January 27, 1976, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section <br />15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950~ as amended, to view the <br />hereinafter described portion of the said street, and to <br />report in writing whether, in their opinion, any, and if <br />any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing the <br />herein described street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said viewers have reported in writing <br />that, in their opinion, no inconvenience would result from <br />closing and discontinuing said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of <br />the City of Portsmouthr Virginiat that a portion Of Florida <br />Avenue between High Street and King Street as hereinafter <br />described, be closed and vacated as a public street. <br /> <br /> All that certain piece or parcel of <br />land lying and being in the City of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia, and comprising that por- <br />tion of Florida Avenue beginning 110 feet <br />six inches, more or less, south of the <br />southernmost line of High Street as the <br />same intersects Florida Avenue and extend- <br />inq from said point southerly to the southern <br />most terminus of Florida Avenue. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the whole of the portion <br />so closed shall be expressly subject to any easement reserved <br />unto the City of Portsmouth, for the construction, maintenance <br />and repair of water mains, sewer mains, gas mains and storm <br />drainage facilities. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held February 24, 1976. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
