AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF FLORIDA AVENUE BETWEEN HIGH STREET AND KING STREET (S-76-2) . WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to vacate, close and dis- continue the hereinafter described portion of Florida Avenue; and WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council, adopted January 27, 1976, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950~ as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of the said street, and to report in writing whether, in their opinion, any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing the herein described street; and WHEREAS, said viewers have reported in writing that, in their opinion, no inconvenience would result from closing and discontinuing said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouthr Virginiat that a portion Of Florida Avenue between High Street and King Street as hereinafter described, be closed and vacated as a public street. All that certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the City of Ports- mouth, Virginia, and comprising that por- tion of Florida Avenue beginning 110 feet six inches, more or less, south of the southernmost line of High Street as the same intersects Florida Avenue and extend- inq from said point southerly to the southern most terminus of Florida Avenue. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the whole of the portion so closed shall be expressly subject to any easement reserved unto the City of Portsmouth, for the construction, maintenance and repair of water mains, sewer mains, gas mains and storm drainage facilities.
