those allowed in C-1 as prescribed in and for that zoning dis- trict. 2) The Commission of Architectural Review may issue Certificate of Appropriateness for alterations proposed in any such subdistrict established on Afton Parkway in Cradock (Febru- ary 10, 1975) and may alter required off-street parking and loading requirements. (D) The following regulations shall apply through- out the Historic District. (1) Ail private areas not covered with building or surface treatment shall be landscaoed with planting, grass, pedestrian walks or similar features, in character with the aesthetic objectives for the area and shall be maintained in reasonable condition. (2) Landscaping improvements in public areas shall have a landscape plan prepared bye qualified landscape architect. Such plan shall be in character with the aesthetic objectives for the area and shall respect the quality and authenL ticity of materials to be expected mn a historic area. (4) The following regulations shall apply to signs within the Historic District. (a) Any new sign within the historia area required prior approval by the Commission of Architectural Re- view. Changes to existing signs, ordered by the commission and based on these regulations shall be carried out within six (6) months of receipt of proper written notice. Such changes shall be at the expense, risk and responsibility of the~owner. Should the owner fail to comply with such notice, the Commission may order this work done at the expense, risk and responsibility of the owner without prejudice. lb) Sighs must be kept in good ~o~dition or they may be removed at t~e r~sk, expense and responsibility of the owner, if after receipt of written notice from the Building Inspector the owner has not initiated the request work within six (6) months. (5) Sanitary and waste refuse storage and col- lection facilities shall be provided on the lot or parcel and shall be screened from public view. Such storage and collection facilities shall be of a typ_e that a dog, cat, rodent and vermin- proof.
