~N ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING STREETS: PARCEL I, A PORTION OF EIGHTH STREET BETWEEN MADISON STREET AND PORTSMOUTH BOULEVARD; PARCEL ti, A PORTION OF NINTH STREET BETWEEN MADISON AND PORTS~OUTH BOULEVARD; PARCEL III, A PORTION OF PORTSMOUTH BOULEVARD BEGINNING APPROXI~ATELY 130 FEET WEST FROM SEVENT~ STREET AND EXTENDING APPROXI~TELY 115 FEET EAST FROM GREEN STREET, INVOLVING ONLY THE NORTHERN RIGHT-OF-WAY OF PORTSMOUTH BOULEVARD, HAVING A WIDTH OF 50 FEET; PARCEL IV, A PORTION OF NELSON STREET BETWEEN SIXTH AND SEVENTH STREET. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to vacate, close and discontinue Parcels I, II, III, and IV, the hereinafter described portions of such streets; and WHEREAS, by Resolution of this Council adopted August 24, ~976, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portions of said streets, and to report in writing whether in their opinion, any, and if any, what ~n- convenience would result from discontinuing the below described streets; and WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing and discontinuing of said streets. NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that those portions of said streets hereinafter described, be closed an~ vacated as public streets: PARCEL I Eighth Street Beginning at the southeastern right- of-way of Madison Street and Eighth Street; thence south 242 feet; thence west 60 feet; thence north 242 feet to the south right- of-way line of Madison Street; thence east along said right-of-way 60 feet to the point of origzn. PARCEL II Ninth Street Beginning at the southeastern right- of-way of Madison Street and Ninth Street; thence south 242 feet; ~hence west 60 feet; thence north 242 feet to the south right- of-way line of Madison Street~ thence east
