1976~81 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO ~dEND THE CODE OF THE CiTY OF PORTSMOUTH~ <br />VIRGINiAs 1973, BY ~2dENDiNG SECTIONS 21-9(a) ~ 21-27(11), <br />2!-38(a)~ 21-82(3) (5) AND (6) ~ 21-83(a) ~(1) AND (b), 21-88, <br />21-89~ 21-98, 21-121~ 21-129, 2!-140~ 21-148, 21-149~ 21-!64~ <br />21-177, 2!-182~ 21-183~ 21-t~4 AND 21-185 THEREOF, PERTAINING <br />TO MISCELLANEOUS OFFENSES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Citp of Ports- <br />mouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Sections 21-9(a), 21-27(11), 2!-38(a) ~ 21-82 <br />(3) (5) and (6)~ 21-83(a) (1) ~nd (b), 21-88, 2i-89~ 21-98~ <br />21-121, 21-129~ 21-140. 21-148~ 21-149, 21-164~ 2!-177~ 21- <br />182~ 21-183, 21-184 and 21-185 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virgmnza~ 1973~ be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 21-9(a) ~ <br /> <br /> Any person who violates -this section with respect <br />to a controlled substance classified in Schedules III~ IV~ <br />V, and VI~ shall be ~uilty of a Class i misdemeanor~ <br /> <br />Section 21-27(11). <br /> <br /> (11) "Explosives" means any chemical compound, <br />mechanical mixture or device the przmary or common purpose <br />of which is to function by explosion. The term includes, <br />but is not limited to dynamite and other high explosives, <br />black blasting powder~ pellet powder~ initiating explosives, <br />blasting caps~ detonators, electric blasting caps, safety <br />fuse~ fuse zgniters, fuse lighters, squibs, cordeau detonant <br />fuse~ instantaneous fuse, detonating cord, i~niter cord~ <br />igniters and those materials included in the list published <br />annually mn the Federal Register by the Department of the <br />Treasury pursuant to the Organized Crime Control Act of <br />1970 {t8 U.S.C.A. ~841 et seq.). <br /> <br />Section 21-38. Carrying concealed weapons. <br /> <br /> (a) If any person carry about his person~ hid from <br />co~on observation~ any pisto!~ or any other firearm or weapon <br />designed or intended to propel a missile of any kind~ dirk, <br />bowie knife, swmtchblade knife~ razor, slungshof, metal knucks~ <br />or any weapon of like kind~ or nun chahka or any other similar <br />flailing instrument consisting of two (2) or more rigid parts <br />connected in such a manner as to allow them ~o swing freely~ <br />which instrument may also be ~nown as a "nunchuck" or "nunchaku"~ <br />shuriken~ fighting chain or eny weapon of like kind~ he shall <br />be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor, and such weapon shall be <br /> <br /> <br />
