(b) /n-Grade Progression. <br /> <br /> Employees shall receiv~ a one step increase annr~l]y until <br />they reach the O step of their grade. Ail increases will be effective <br />for the full pay period in which the employee's anr,~versazy date <br /> <br /> No employee may receive more than one Ir~Grade Progression per <br />year, except under the provisions of paragraph (c) below. <br /> <br /> /n-Grade Progression may be withheld fr~m permanent en~ployees <br />by the Depsr~uent Head upon submission of at least two (2) written <br />warnings to the employee (with copies for the permanent persannet <br />file) that the employee's performance bas been unsatisfactory <br />during the course of the year. One warning rmlst have been given <br />prior to, and one subsequent to, three raPnths before the employee <br />becomes eligible for t2%e In-Grade Progression step. <br /> <br /> Any permanent emploi~e %~ose performance is such that In-fk~de <br />Progression is withheld for two consecutive years will be demoted <br />or terminated. <br /> <br />(c) Adrministrative Salary Adjustr~nts. <br /> <br /> The City Manager retains the authority to make administrative <br />salary adjustments, Such adjustments include, but are not limited <br />to: <br /> <br />(1) Perfonmance recognition, positive or negative. <br /> <br />(2) Approval of dep~ntal requests for special salary <br /> actions; positive or negative. <br /> <br />(3) Correction of verified errors in application of the Pay <br /> Plan. <br /> <br />(d) Application. <br /> <br /> The Director of .Personnel shall be responsible for application <br />of this Conl~_nsation and Salary Adjustn~=~nt Section. <br /> <br /> This responsibility includes the application of this section <br />to the Pay Schedule and clarification and resolution of any problems <br />or questions not specifically covered by t-he Classification and Pay <br />Plan. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
