~AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THAT PORTION OF THE U. S. ROUTE 58 FREEWAY FROM <br />THE MID-TOWN TUNNEL TO HIGH STREET AS THE MARTIN LUTHER KING FREEWAY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the late Reverend Martin Luther King is a symbol of <br />freedom to many of our citizens; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens of this City wish to bestow a fitting tribute <br />to the memory of said recipiant of the Nobel Peace Prize. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of Uo S. Route 58 Freeway from <br />the Mid-town Tunnel to High Street is designated as the Martin Luther <br />King Freeway. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a <br />meeting held April 26, 1977. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
