AN ORDINANCE CLOSING ~ FOLLOWING STREET: A PORTI(IN OF THOMAS AVENUE; <br />FROM THE EAST LINE OF BOOKER STR~-~ EAST TO THE CEN'I~Z~ OF SCOTT'S <br />A DISTANCE OF .~.,~X////A'l'h;I ,Y 210 <br /> <br /> ~R~AS, the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, has made application to <br />vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of a <br />certain street; and <br /> <br /> ~, by Resolution of this Council adopted March 8, 1977, <br />viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, <br />1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portion of said <br />street and %o report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if <br />any, what inconvenience would result frc~a discon~_inuing the below <br />describe~ street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their <br />opinion no inconvenience would result frc~ the closing and discontinuing <br />of said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City o~ <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of said street hereinafter <br />described, be closed and vacated as a public street: <br /> <br />THOMAS AVENUE <br /> <br /> Ail those certain pieces or parcels of land situate, <br />lying and being in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia and <br />conprising that portion of Thomas Avenue frc~ the east <br />line of Booker Street east to the center of Scott's Creek, <br />a dis~nnce of approximately 210 feet. <br /> <br />This ordinance shall be effective from the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a <br />meeting held M=~rch 22, 1977. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
