~Section 25-38. <br /> <br />Information filed to become public records. <br /> <br /> Registration statements, reports, professional f~nd-raising counsel <br />contracts or professional solicitor contracts and all other documents <br />~nd infonmation required to be filed under this chapter shall become <br />public records in the office of the ~nager, and shall be open to the <br />general public for inspection at such time and under such conditions as <br />the Manager may prescribe. A charge not exceeding one dollar per page <br />may be made for any copy of such documents and information, as maybe <br />furnished s_n!; person by the Manager. <br /> <br />Section 2~39. Prohibited acts. <br /> <br /> (a) No charitable organization shall use or exploit the fact <br />of registration under t%3~q chapter so as to lead the public to belie%~ <br />that such registration in any Fzuaner constitutes an endorsement or <br />approval by the City of Portsmouth; provided, h~ver, that the use of <br />the following statement shall not be deemed a prohibited e~ploitation, <br />"~=gistered with the City of Portsmouth as required by law. Registration <br />does not imply endorsement of a public solicitation for contributions". <br /> <br /> (b) No person shall, in comnection with the solicitatic~n of <br />contributions or the sa~e of t~ngible personal property or services <br />represent, or lead anyone by any ma~er~ nm~ns~ practice or device <br />whatsoever to believe that~ the person on %~aose behalf such solicit~.tion <br />or sale is being condncted is a bona fide charit~3ole orgarJzation or <br />that the proceeds of such solicitation or sale will be used for chari- <br />table purposes, if he has reason to believe such not to he the fact. <br /> <br /> (c) No person shall in connection with the solicitation of <br />contributions or the sale of tangible personal property om sem~ces for <br />charitable purposes repres~n%, or lead anyone by any manner, ~eans, <br />practice or device whatsoever to believe that any other person sponsors <br />or endorses such solicitation of contributions~ sale of tangible personal <br />property or services for charitable p~ or approves of such cbs~-itable <br />purposes or a Charitable organization connected therewith when s~ach <br />other person has not given written consent to~ the use of his name for <br />these purposes. <br /> <br /> Any member of the board/of directors or trustees of a charitable <br /> organization or any other person who~has agreed~ ~o either se~ze-~or-t0 <br /> ~particip_ate in any voluntazy capacity_in tb~ ~can~aign sha~j he deemed <br />~ ,.~ereby to have ,given ~ this consent~o ,~he nse of.bis name ~said ~igni <br /> Nothing[ cOntained ~s. sectic~z shalt: prevent ~e publication Qf':.R~es <br /> -of Contributers without their ~¢ritten consents~ in an annual or other <br /> periodic report issued by a charitable organization for thepurpose of <br /> report3ung on its opera~ions and affairs to-its membership or for' the <br /> purpose of reperhing contributions to contributors. <br /> <br /> <br />
