WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and ~ing A3atb~rity has made application to vacate, close and ~cont/nue the hereinafter described portion of a cere~iu street; and Wnf/iEAS, by Resolution of this Council adopted Nay 27, 1975, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereip~fter described portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience w~]d result from discontinuing the below described street; and ~E~EAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in tb~ opinion no inconvenience would result frc~% the closing and discontinuing of said street. NOW, ~X~i{EFORE, BE IT ~ by the Council of the City of Po~ts- mouth, Virginia, that that portion of said street hereJ_uafter described, be closed and vacated as a public street: MIDDLE Beginning at a point marked by a P.K. N~il in walk in the South right of way line of County Street 87a11'34" West 354.21.feet frcm the southwest inter- section of rights of way of County and Crawford Streets; thence along.west line of property now or formerly of Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority S3°34'37" East 225.51 feet to a chiseled cross; thence along the north right of way line of Columbia Street S87°14'28'' West 59.0 feet to a iron pin; thence along east line of property now or formerly of Portsmouth P~development and Housing Authority N3°32'O8" West 225.47 feet to a ~.K. nail in wa/k; thence along the south right of way line of County Street N87°11'34'' East 58.85 feet to the P.K. Nail in walk at the point of beginnir~. The hereinabove described parcel represents the portion of Middle Street between County Street on the north and Columbia Street on the south; contains 13,269 square feet, more er less; and is shown on a plat entitled "Portsmouth Redevelopment and F~usinq Authority - Urban Renewal - Crawford Renewal Project VA R-53 - Plat Shewing Portion of Middle Street to be Closed - City of Portsmouth, Virginia", prepared by R. Kenneth Weeks, Engineers, and S. M. Rogers, Engineer and t~nd Surveyor, Norfolk, Virginia, dated March 24, 1972.
