AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 40-139(a) (4) OF THE CITY CODE <br />PERTAINING TO OFF-STREET PARKING ON WATERFRONT W-1 DISTRICTS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that Section 40-139(a) (4) be amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-139. Waterfront W-1 District dimensional <br /> requirement and sign requirements. <br /> <br />(a)(4) Off-street automobile parking. <br /> <br />Use of Buildings <br /> <br />Minimum Number of <br /> Parking Spaces <br /> <br />Multi-family residential <br />Hotels, motels <br /> <br />1.25 spaces for each dwelling <br /> unit <br />1 space for each of first 20 <br /> sleeping rooms~ plus 1 space <br /> for each 4 rooms over 20 <br /> <br />Office or professional <br /> buildings <br /> <br />On-site parking in the ratio of <br /> t space for each 200 square <br /> feet of office space with a <br /> minimum of 5 spaces or park- <br /> in a public parking facility <br /> within 750 feet of the site <br /> containing spaces in the <br /> same ratio <br /> <br />General retail businesst <br /> commercial and personal <br /> service establishments <br /> <br />On-site parking in the ratio of <br /> at least 2.5 spaces per 1,000 <br /> square feet of usable floor <br /> space~ exclusive of storage <br /> or stock area or parking in <br /> a public pa~king facility <br /> within 750 feet of the site <br /> containing spaces in the same <br /> ratio <br /> <br />Open space land uses such <br /> as marinas and re- <br /> creation areas <br /> <br />Adequate spaces as determined <br /> by the Planning Commission <br /> after the submission of Site <br /> Plan <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held August 22, 1978. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
