Section 38-67.17. Inspection of backflow protective devices. (a) The owner of any premises where backflow protective devices are installed shall have such devices inspected at least once yearly, beginning one year after installation. In- spection shall be accomplished by backflow prevention device testers certified by the director. The date of annual test- ing shall be within thirty days before or thirty days after the anniversary date of installation. (b) If the director concludes that more frequent in- spections are required, he shall notify the premises in writing of such finding and shall further specify the basis for such conclusions. The director shall also promulgate a schedule for more frequent inspections. (C) Backflow prevention devices shall be tested, repaired, overhauled or replaced as necessary at the expense of the water user. Records of such test, repairs and overhaul shall be kept by the certified tester and made available to the m~ ~' ~e~or. Section 38-67.18. Certification of testers generally. Plumbers, maintenance personnel, employees of owners or own- e~s of ,backflow prevention de~ices may become certified by the director to-test and repair such 'devices by completing the writ- ten and performance 'ex'amination to the satisfaction of the di- rector. Section 38-67.19. Tester classes. Testers shall be classified as follows: fa) SI'NGLE DEVICE TESTER. A person who has been qualified to ~es't, inspect and repair a Specific device at a singular lo- cation. (b) LIMITED TESTER. A person who has been trained and is qualified to perform the periodic testing, inspection an~ repairs on the devices contained within a specific plant or institution. (C) GENERAL TESTER. A'registered plumber who has been trained and is qualified to p'erfo'rm the periodic testing, in- pection and repairs on all.approved devices. 12
