(d) Systems having direct connections to the waterworks <br />and interconnections with auxiliary supplies such as pumps <br />taking suction from raw water sources, exposed storage tanks, <br />industrial water supplies, connections to unapproved ground- <br />waters, or where antifreeze or other chemicals are added must <br />provide an air gap. <br /> <br /> (e) Systems having direct connections to the waterworks <br />from buildings having combined industrial and fire systems <br />efther with or without storage tanks or pump connections must <br />provide an air gap. <br /> <br /> {f) Systems having direct connections to waterworks serving <br />lawn sprinkler or irrigation systems must provide an air gap, <br />double gate-double check assembly or an RP device. If the <br />sprinkler or irrigation system is also connected to an auxiliary <br />source, an adequate design must be provided or prevent backflow. <br /> <br />Section 38-67.7. Hose outlets. <br /> <br /> Where hose outlets are concerned, vacuum breakers are re- <br />qui~ed. The 'director may waive this requirement if, upon ex- <br />amination of-all facts, the hose Outlets are designed and con- <br />structed so,as to substantially el'iminate the risk of pollution <br />or contamination. <br /> <br />Section 38-67.8. Sewer clean-out. <br /> <br /> A backflow preventer device between hydrant and hose shall <br />be 'ins%ailed before using a hose for flushing storm drains and <br />sewers. <br /> <br />Section 38-67.9. Irrigation and sprinkler systems. <br /> <br /> A backflow prevention device shall be installed on all irri- <br />g&tion',and sprinkler systems. <br /> <br />Section 38-67.10. Booster pumps. <br /> <br /> A low-pressure cutoff shall be installed on all booster pumps <br />on water pressure booster systems in such a manner as to maintain <br />a minimum pressur~ of ten,psi on the suction side 'of the pump. <br /> <br />Section 38~67.11.
