AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING: <br />NORFOLK ROAD. (S-.79-2) <br /> <br />A PORTION OF WEST <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Associated Naval Architectsr Inc. and Virginia <br />Chemicals, Inc., have made application to vacate, close and <br />discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of a certain <br />Road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by a Resolution of this Council adopted March <br />27, 1979, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364, <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter- <br />described portion of said Road, and to report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any~ what inconvenience <br />would result from discontinntng the below-described Road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in thair opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing <br />and discontinuing of said Road. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />~f Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of said Road here- <br />lnafter-described be closed and vacated as a public Road. <br /> <br />WEST NORFOLK ROAD <br /> <br /> That certain part of West Norfolk Road, <br />including raparian rights appurtenant thereto, <br />lying between the shoreline of the Western <br />Branch of the Elizabeth River and the exten- <br />sion to the East of a southern right-of-way <br />line of Shipwright Street. <br /> <br /> BE IT-~URTHER ORDAINED that the same is hereby closed and <br />vacated as a public street, that the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />reserves unto itself perpetual easements, rights and privileges <br />to install, maintain, operate and replace sewer mains, sewer <br />drains, sanitary sewers, storm drains, gas mains, water mains <br />and laterals, ~lectric power lines and telephone cable lines <br />and poles within, over, under and across those portions of <br />the hereinabove-named street. <br /> <br /> This ordinance shall take effect from the date of its <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held May 8, 1979. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
