AN OPD~-XIANCE TO ~I.~ND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY ~%~NDINX~ SECTION 2-341 THEREOF, pERtAINING TO T~E PORTSMOLX~q ~4ERC~gC~Z MEDICAL SERVICE ADVISORY C~SSION. BE IT ORDAINED by e_he Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That the Code of the C1 y of Portsmouth, .irg~nla,-1973, be amended and reordained by amenfblng Sectic~ 2-341 thereof, sucI1 amended section to read as follows: Section 2-341. Composition, appointment and term of r~/d~ers. The Portsmouth Emergency_ Medical Service Advisory Coyaaission shall consist of 1t members who shall be appointed by the City Council for a term of tkree (3) yea~s; of these eleven ~11) Panthers, a ~d3kimum of six (6) shall be-~ppointed frc~ representatives of t_he following organizations: the Porfsmout~ A~ade~y of ~dicine, the ~ospitat Emergency_ Roc~ Physicians, the H~spital Emergency_ Room Nurses, the Administrator of ~z~!/v_ Jew Hospital, the Administrator of Portsmouth General Hospital, the Administrator of the' Naval Hospital, a Ccxs~unity Psychiatrist, the American Red Cross; and in addition %o those'~i~ [6I m~0ers, at least fltree {3k i~ambers shall be appointed from the C!ty-3~t-Large. These members shall hold office during their r~spectlve terms end until their successors are appointed or they are removed under' the provisions of Section 2-343, with each of the' eleven Ill) ~bers exercising f_he right to vote in exercising the functions and ~u~ies enumerated' in Article VII of Chapter 2 of the city Code. As an adjunct to the C~Ygssion, one {11 representative of each of the following City 'departments will at~end %/ae ~ssion n~etings, in a non-voting capacity, %c~it: -One ~1~ ~ember from Civil Defense, one ~mbem from the Portsmouth. Police Depa/~nt, one {lk ~esd~er from the Portsmouth Fire Deparfraent, one (1} ~amffoer' from the City Administration, one -{1) ~be~' from"the DepOt of Public Health, one (it member from the Portsmouth Public SchOOl Administration. 2. ~lis o~llnance Shall take effect from the date of its passage.
