AN ORDINANCE TO AM_END THE CODE OF THE CITY OF. PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 32-48 PERTAINING TO SCHEDULE OF FEES AND CHARGES FOR STREET OPENING PERMITS. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Section mouth, Virginia, 1973, fbllows: 32-48 of the Code of the City of Ports- be amended and reordained to read as Section 32-48. Schedule of. fees and charges. (a) For each permit issued an inspection fee of seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) plus fifty cents (0.50) per square yard be charged, except that the fee for utility poles will be five dollars ($5.00) per pole. (b) For each permit issued, charges for resurfacing will be levied in accordance with schedule except as provided in (c) below: repairing or the following Type of Repaving/Resurfacing Minimum Charge and Charge Per Square Yard * Utility pole (in pavement) Asphalt sidewalk Brick sidewalk-sand bed Brick sidewalk-concrete bed Concrete sidewalk Concrete street Surface treated-stone base Asphalt on soil cement base Asphalt on crushed stone base Asphalt on stone block or brick Asphalt on concrete base Any other paving Strip resurfacing between cuts longitudinally along street Curb lowering (see Sec. 32-3) 18.00 13.O0 36.~00 48.OO '18.00 27.00 16.50 23.00 16.50 30.00 41.OO 30.00 0.50/lin. ft. 0.50/lin. ft. * For work in excess of 1 square yard, area shall be determined to the nearest one-tenth (I/10) of a square yard. (c) Up to ten (10) individual cu~s may be included on one permit.if each cut is not larger than one (1) square yard in area, all such cuts are within three hundred (300) linear feet along any one street, the inclusion of additional cuts will not increase the inspection services required for any one cut and all such cuts will be able to be repaved or resurfaced at one time. For each such permit issued, charges for repaying or resurfacing will be levied based on the schedule contained in Section (b) pro- rated to the nearest one-tenth (1/tO) of a square yard for the total area involved.
