(b) The City Manager may authorize payment for overtime <br />to any employee. <br /> <br />Section 11. <br /> <br />Additional Compensation - Firefighters and <br />Police Offioers. <br /> <br /> (a) Any sworn officer of the Fire and Police Departments <br />below the rank of Assistant Chief placed on special assignment <br />duty shall be paid at the rate of thirteen dollars ($13.O0) <br />for the first two hours or a major portion thereof, and six <br />dollars and fifty cents ($6.50) for each subsequent hour or <br />ma]or portion thereof. Such additional compensation must be <br />entered by the Chief of the Department on the next succeeding <br />payroll submitted to the Finance Director. All special <br />assignments must be authorized by the Chief of the Department, <br />or during his absence or disability, by his duly authorized <br />designee. Overtime work shall not be considered special <br />assignment duty. <br /> <br /> (b) Any sworn officer of the Fire or Police Departments <br />who, in his official capacity, when not on regular assigned <br />period of duty~ is required no appear in court~ shall be <br />paid at the rate of t~irteen dollars ($13.OO) for the first <br />two ho~rs or major portion thereof, and six dollars and fifty <br />cents ($6.50) for each subsequent hour or major portion thereof. <br /> <br /> (c) Any sworn officer of the Fire or Police Departments <br />who is required to wear civilian clothes in the regular per- <br />formance of official duties shall be paid an additional fifty <br />dollars ($50.00) per month as clothing allowance. This allow- <br />ance will be paid quarterly commencing with the first fiscal <br />quarter after assignment. <br /> <br /> (d) Sworn personnel in the grades of Police Officer, <br />Police Sergeant~ and Police Lieutenant shall receive an allowance <br />in the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00) per month as compensation <br />for being required to wear a handgun at all times. <br /> <br /> (e) Police Department Helicopter Pilots shall receive a <br />flight pay allowance mn the amount of one hundred dollars <br />($1OO.OO) per month. <br /> <br /> (f) Police Officers serving in special programs and pilot <br />programs shall be compensated ~n such amounts as authorized <br />by City Council or in such amount for which contracts have <br />been entered for the purpose of developing effective police <br />techniques. Ail assignments will be approved in advance by <br />the City Manager. ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
