Section 5. Monies paid to the retired school teachers <br />shall be termed as gratuity and only as a temporary measure. <br />If the State of Virginia takes over this responsibility, this <br />gratuity will cease. <br /> <br /> Section 6. To the extent that any monies in the accounts <br />of the School Board derived from sources other than the Sta~e <br />of Virginia are unexpended at the end of the fiscal year 1980- <br />1981, and, thus, become available for use the next fiscal year, <br />the City's share of the appropriation made for education and <br />schoiarsh~ps for the next ensuing year shall be decreased by <br />a like amount. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meelng held May 13, 1980. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
