AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 40-68.1(e) OF THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973, PERTAINING TO SIGNS PER- <br />MITTED TROUGH THE ISSUANCE OF A USE PERMIT WITHIN THE M-1-R <br />ZONING DISTRICT. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 40-68.1~e) of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended and reordained to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 40-68.1. Industrial M-1-R Districts. <br /> <br /> (e) Uses permitted through the issuance of a use permit. <br /> Within the M-1-R zoning district, the following <br /> uses may be permitted upon the granting of a use <br /> permit as prescribed in this article: <br /> <br /> Alcohol and alcoholic beverag~ manufacture. <br /> <br /> Assembly of machines and appliances for previously <br /> prepared parts. <br /> <br /> Assembly, repair an~ storage of transportation <br /> containers, automobile, truck and heavy <br /> equipment assembly and open storage of <br /> automobiles, trucks and hea~vv equipment. <br /> <br /> Automobile commercial parking enterprise. <br /> <br /> Automobile and truck assembly. <br /> <br /> Bakeries or baking plants. <br /> <br /> Bedding, carpet and pillow manufacturing. <br /> Bookbindery. <br /> <br /> Bottling works. <br /> <br /> Candy products manufacture. <br /> <br /> Canvas and burlap products manufacture, sale and storage. <br /> <br /> Clothing manufacture. <br /> <br /> Coffee or tea processing and/or packaging. <br /> <br /> Cold storage plants. <br /> <br /> Dairy products processing, bottling and distribution, <br /> ice bream manufacture and sales. <br /> <br /> <br />
