contractor or person to give good and.sufficient bond in <br />the sum of five thousand ($5,000.) dollars, to be approved <br />by %he department of law of the City. of Portsmouth, payable <br />to the~City of Portsmouth with surety conditioned to indemnify. <br />and save harmless the City'as well as any other person from <br />all expense and damage that may be caused by any negligent, <br />defective or inadequate work done in the City under his <br />certificate and/or license and/or direction and to secure <br />the payment of fees and permits and to secure and insure his <br />conformation and compliance with the regulations of the <br />building official and the building code and other ordinances <br />or laws of this City.
