from the approp~iatedivision of the department of building <br />inspections; or after obtaining such permit, deviates from <br />the plan approved by the department of building inspection <br />without receiving written approval from the building official;. <br />or allows the occupancy of the building or structure for which <br />the permit was obtained before a certificate of occupancy <br />has been issued by the building official, then said person <br />shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to the penalty <br />prescribed in the Uniform Statewide Building Code. In addition <br />to any criminal penalties and sanctions where the unlawful <br />acts described above have been identified before a permit is <br />obtained., the permit fee shall be doubled. <br /> <br /> (b) No permit shall be valid unless all fees provided <br />for in this Code are paid; nor shall an amendment to a permit <br />be approved until the additional fees, if any, shall have been <br />paid to the City of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> (c) REFUNDS: Refunds 0f permit fees are to be made <br />only in accord with the provisions of the Uniform Statewide <br />Building Code. <br /> <br /> (d) The fees for all permits required by this Code shall <br />be paid at the time the permit is issued. <br /> <br /> (e) INSPECTIONS: The inspections required under the <br />provisions of this Code shall be performed by an inspector from <br />the appropriate division of the department Of building inspection, <br />upon notification from the permit holder or such holder's agent. <br />Such inspector shall either approve that portion of the work as <br />completed or shall notify the permit holder or the agent of <br />same where such work fails to comply with the Code or depart- <br />mental regulation. Additional inspections may be required by <br />~the inspector where, in the inspector's judgment, such inspections <br />are necessary because of the scope or complexity Of the work <br />to be installed or performed. Each reinspection shall require <br />a fee of ten ($10.00) dollars to be paid prior to said reinspection. <br /> <br /> ' 31 That Section 118.31 (a) (7) (2) of Section 6~8 of <br /> the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,. 1973, as amended, <br />be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section i18131 (a) (7) (2).
