AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF HOLLADAY STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, James E. Dillon and Patricia W. Dillon, by their <br />attorney, L. Cleaves Manning, have made application to vacate, <br />close and discontinue the hereinafter-described portion of <br />Holladay Street; and <br /> <br /> ~{EREAS, by a Resolution of this Council adoptedJuly 28, <br />1981, viewers were appointed pursuant to ~15.1-364, Code of <br />Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the 'hereinafter-described <br />portion of said street, and' to report in writing whether in <br />their opinion any, and, if any, what inconvenience would re- <br />sult from discontinuing, saidstreet; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS,'the said viewers have reported in writing that <br />in their opinion no inconvenience would result from the closing <br />and discontinuing of Said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the hereinafter-described portion <br />of Holladay Street be closed and vacated as a public street. <br /> <br />HOLLADAY STREET <br /> <br /> That portion of Holladay Street beginning at <br />a point 240' west from the intersection of Holladay <br />Street and Williamsburg Avenue (formerly Second <br />Avenue) and extending from said point in a westerly <br />direction to the center of the channel of Scott's <br />Creek. (S-81-3) <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the City of Portsmouth re- <br />serves unto itself perpetual easements, rights and privileges <br />to install, operate and maintain sanitary, sewers, storm drains, <br />sewer mains and sewer drains within, over, under and across <br />those portions of the hereinabove-named Street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />at a meeting held September 8, 1981. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
