AN ORDINAl;CE TO AMEND SECTION 38-66 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF PORTSM©UTH~ VIRGINIA, 1973, PERTAINING TO USE OF PUBLIC <br />FIRE H~DP~A~.TS ANNUAL CHARGE. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> t. That Section 38-66 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, be amended and reordained to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 38-66. Use of Public Fire Hydrants; Annual Charge. <br /> <br /> Public fire hydrants shall be used for the extinguishment <br />of fires. Such public fire hydrants may also be used for other <br />municipal uses with the approval of the City ~anager or his <br />designee~ Prior %o use for other than-extinguiskment of fires, <br />an agreen~snt covering conditions of use, including provisions <br />for payment of water and other costs where applicable, shall <br />be executed. <br /> <br /> Public fire hydrants within the corporate limits of the <br />City shall be pa±d~ for at the rate of seventy-five dollars <br />($75.00) each per annu/n. Public fire hydrants .located in <br />the City or town other than this City, or inca county, shall <br />be subject to contract, or if no contract is entered into <br />for such fire hydrants, they shall be paid for at the rate <br />of one hundred dollars ($100.) each per annum. Rates for <br />public fire hydrants shall be payable quarterly. Bills for <br />public fire hydrants shall not be subject to discount. <br /> <br />2.
