AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 38-34 PERTAINING TO <br />METER RATES FOR WATER SUPPLY, AND BY REPEALING SECTION <br />38-34.1 ~ERTAIN!NG TO EMERGENCY SURCHARGE THEREON.' .... <br /> <br /> BE iT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth,~ <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> t. That Section 38-34 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, be amended and reordained to read <br />as fo!lbws: <br /> <br />Section 38-34. Meter Rates for Water Supply. <br /> <br /> (a) For all water which passes through the meters, <br />the cons~ers within ~he corporate limits of the City of <br />Portsmouth shall pay a rate of one dollar eight cents ($t~O8) <br />per one thousand It~OOO) gallons, or, eighty one cents ($O.81) <br />per one hundred (1OO) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br /> (b) For all water which passes through the meters to <br />the City of Chesapeake pursuant to contract, the City of <br />Chesapeake shall pay one dollar three cents ($1.03) per one <br />thousand (1,000) gallons, or, seven~y-seven and one-quarter <br />cents ($0.7725) per one hundred (1OO) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br /> (c) For all water which passes through the meters to <br />the City of Suffolk pursuant to contract, the City of Suffolk <br />shall pay fifty-five cenus ($0.55) per one thousand (t,000) <br />gallons, orr forty-one and one-quarter cents ($O.4125) per <br />one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. <br /> <br /> (d) The rates described herein will be reflected in bills <br />rendered after July i, 1982. <br /> <br /> 2. That'Section 38-34.1 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, be repealed. <br /> <br />3.
